Description
STIHL ForestPlus chain oil is available here in 1L or 5L containers. A mineral-based oil for lubricating chainsaw guide bars and chains. Check your tool’s manual and the product label to confirm that this is the correct product for your equipment.
Choosing STIHL ForestPlus chain oil
Chain oil lubricates the cutting chain and guide bar through the chainsaw’s chain-oil system. It has a different purpose from two-stroke engine oil and ready-mixed petrol. Check the tank markings before topping up so that the right product goes into the right reservoir. Choose the container size that suits your normal workload and storage space.
Using STIHL ForestPlus chain oil
Review the container label before opening it, particularly if you keep several fuels and lubricants together. Use the product only for its stated purpose and follow the equipment manufacturer’s instructions. Check the remaining quantity before starting work so that you can plan replenishment without interrupting your normal maintenance routine.
Storage and product information
Keep the product in its original labelled container and follow the storage and handling instructions supplied by STIHL. Retain the label so that the product can be identified when you need to check its specification or reorder. Refer to the current safety data sheet for handling, storage and disposal information appropriate to the product.
Read STIHL’s official safety data sheets for manufacturer information. You can also browse our STIHL product range to compare the fuels and lubricants listed in the shop.
Help before you order
If you are unsure which product to choose, contact our team for advice. Provide the machine make and model, the product recommended in its manual and the container size you require. That information helps us respond to your enquiry without confusing chain lubrication with engine lubrication or fuel.
When reordering, compare the product name and container volume with your previous purchase. Similar packaging can belong to different products. Keep a note of the exact item your equipment requires so that future orders match the product you intended to buy.
